JANA FIALOVA

Printmaker & Illustrator

I am a London based printmaker and illustrator. My inspiration comes from (extra)ordinary things, situations or people I encounter in my everyday life. For example, regular commuting on train and fellow commuters infused my last project. It resulted in a limited edition of linocut prints, woodcut prints, performance piece and short video. I tell stories through my artwork. Making art is my way of communication. I am passionate about traditional techniques as well as I am keen on employing digital media as a part of my creative expression. I use non-toxic products whenever I can in my practice.

My intention is to draw attention to small, simple details of our everyday life that could be easily overlooked; to question our perception and assumptions we make based on first impression. The story is never definite. It leaves space for viewer to explore it in a way that reflects his/her own experience.

In case you are interested in my artwork, would like to see more or have any enquiries, please contact me by e-mail and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
